ReplyDeleteThat is the million dollar question. The serial tags mean virtually nothing, as even the Celine employees do not know what they are, should be, or what they mean. The best source for authenticing bags thus far is The Purse Forum's thread on authentication. ReplyDeleteThere are many variables to take into account: the "Made in Italy" imprint, logo stamp, zippers, and more. The way these attributes appear on any given bag varies based on style, color, leather type, and season.
I have published a link to my Picasa gallery that contains pictures of hundreds of various Celine bags for help in referincing what one should take into account. Nevertheless, to date, the Purse Forum is the best place to go, as MyPoupette and Carol Diva do not authenticate celine bags.
